I would always say Darwin mostly because he founded the concept of evolution and apparently he liked more practical aspects of life like travelling and being in nature to learn rather than being in lectures studying which is something that I wholeheartedly agree with too!

More recently, I have been learning about a scientist Jane Hinton. She was born in the US and in the 1930s managed to get a job as a lab technician which wasn’t a profession women did during that time period. She went on to produce a product that is used today in microbiology labs to grow bacterial cultures! After the war, she became a vet. I quite like her story and shes inspirational to me!

My favourite would be Leonhard Euler, who was a mathematician, physicist, astronomer, logician and engineer who lived in the 1700s. You might have heard of him when you read about lines and angles in geometry…and you will read about him again when you learn trigonometry. Infact, he has made so many important laws and formulae in mathematics and physics that you will be using them if you are a scientist or an engineer of some sort today.

He has basically shaped most of mathematics we know and inspired so many great scientists like Einstein. There are scientists who still find it hard to understand how he got those incredible ideas, and he did it 250 years ago.

One of my favourite scientists is Dame Professor Jocelyn Bell Burnell! She is an astrophysicist and her incredible discovery of radio pulsars is one of the reasons we can find out so much about our universe today.🌀✨ She also won £2.3 million and then donated it all to help female, minority, and refugee students get into physics! She’s pretty amazing! Give her a google 😎
