Ahh it was a nightmare, haha. For starters, most labs in London that I wanted to work in, refused only because they had to pay for my Visa. To make things worse, the Visa process for the course I wanted (Molecular Biophysics) had many additional forms from the UK Home office, because a foreign student like me who wants to work with powerful radiation like electrons and X-rays needs the government’s approval….and government approvals take 4 whole months!
At one point after my admission to King’s College, my visa took so long that I thought I couldn’t make it to London at all. But thankfully, the visa came in at the very last minute and I had to book my tickets and travel within one day!

So it was a terribly stressful process.. even after I got to London, I spent 2 months trying to catch up with the first month that I had missed. But I am glad it all worked out at the end.
