Well, I have a lot of inspirations actually, depends on what area.. for instance, Leonhard Euler is my inspiration when it comes to solving puzzles in maths and science. Eminem is my inspiration when it comes to writing really good rap songs, the legendary classical composer Franz Liszt
is my inspiration for playing the piano …and I can keep going on with this list, haha 😛

Thats because I learn something different from everyone. Infact, my most important inspiration right now to pursue and teach science, are kids like you who are so curious at such a young age. I have learned a lot by chatting with all of you 🙂

I really admire quite a lot of people. Actually, I compare myself to a lot of people and most the time I always wonder why I am not as good as them!! These people are my inspiration to keep going and evolving as a person and within my career.

First off, I love love love David Attenborough. He was my first love in Biology and the natural world. He made everything fascinating and he got to travel the world, experiencing different places and immersing himself in different cultures. He was the guy that made me think, yep that is what I want to do in life.

Then, when I was at Uni and was surrounded my researchers and academics, I found that these people were my inspiration. These guys were real life scientists, making discoveries or trying to make discoveries and at the same time were teaching us how to become scientists. I found that to be such an incredible job. One of my lecturers really got to me once because he said I needed to find my niche, become an expert in it and then travel the world telling people about it. That’s always stuck with me – but I’m still to become an expert in something!

Let’s seeeee! Some of my first inspirations in science and nature were presenters like David Attenborough! I remember quite clearly marching down the road at the age of 9, going door to door with a very large RSPB placard, asking my neighbours to purchase some of my home-made nic-naks in order to “save the birds”. And, although I’m quite sure most of the money that people gave to me was to get me away from their front door, I still remember receiving my certificate of fundraising from the RSPB, telling me that the £21.73 I raised was making a difference. I had seen a nature documentary on the BBC and had been so inspired, that I had taken it upon myself to save an entire class of animals 😆🐥
