For sure! The used to get kids at the museum I worked at to fill in the empty spaces on the periodic table with their future discoveries 😎 That’s what the gaps are there for right?! What’s really cool is that we can predict what these undiscovered elements will be like (their properties) by looking at what we’ve already found – we look at the group they’ll fall into, check out the properties of the other elements in that group and then we can say – hey! That’s going to be a really reactive or radioactive or shiny element, and so on!🔬✨ If i discovered a shiny element, I would call it Discosium (after the noble disco ball) 🤙🤙🤙 What would you call your element?

Yeh, I think there could be! There is so much of this planet left that we have to discover it’s insane!
The first place I would look if I was going discovering elements is waay deep down under the sea. The deep sea is such an extreme place to survive I think there is bound to be loads of things; elements, species and microorganisms left to find – its estimated we still have about 95% of the deep sea still to discover!

Whoa that’s a great question..and yes, indeed there are! Like Sammie said, scientists have already been able to predict what the element would behave like.. so when they do find a new rock or crystal, they know what tests to run to find out if it is a new element!

I am sure there are at least a 100 or more new elements right in our galaxy.. because different planets are made of totally different things..like Venus’s atmosphere is 97% carbon dioxide.. jupiter has oceans of sulfuric acid! I am sure there will be a lot of chemicals that we don’t even know about on earth.. and using the samples collected by the rovers and probes that we have sent into space, we can actually find out 🙂
