      yes. We use python quite a lot in our work. We also use other programming languages to complement python, things like c/c++/fortran and specialised libraries for mathematics lke gsl, boost, fftw3, blas/lapack, also special libraries to deal with parallelism like MPI or OpenMP. Another language we use is CUDA to programme GPUs.
