I love the methane bubble experiment 😎🌬 In this experiment, you put methane gas into washing up liquid making methane bubbles. Then you cover your hand in more washing up liquid, put the bubbles on your hand and then set them ON FIRE 🔥🔥🔥 The bubbles burst into flames so you’re holding a handful of fire BUT it doesn’t hurt! Why? Because of the speed at which the gas burns! Check out this video:
Pls don’t try this at home or school 😎😎😎

The coolest science experiment is adding mentos to a diet coke bottle. The result is the coke flies out of the bottle into the air like a geyser! (WARNING: move away as soon as you add the mint, because this happens very fast!).

What happens is the mint causes the carbon and oxygen inside the coke to form carbon dioxide gas very quickly, and this gas rushes out of the coke bottle at insanely high speeds! Check this video out to see how it’s done!

The cool thing is you can use this to make a rocket (turn the bottle upside down on the table soon as you add the mint..it will be sent flying up into the air!)
You can also turn the bottle sideways against a wall after adding the coke, to see how far it goes on the ground!

I LOVE the elephant toothpaste experiment!

The experiment uses hydrogen peroxide which has pretty weak bonds. It will decompose slowly over time, but if you give it a catalyst like potassium iodide or yeast, this process speeds up. If you add some soap and food colouring – you have a really cool experiment!

Cornflour slime is great! Mix cornflour with water & you get something that behaves in really odd ways… if you hit it quickly, it feels like a solid–if you have a big tub full of the stuff, you can run across the surface! But poke it slowly or pick it up & let it run through your hands, and it’ll act like a liquid. It’s great because it’s an experiment you can do in your kitchen, but the science behind it is used in all sorts of places, from car brakes to body armour.
